A mini in-person retreat in New York City. This is a new offering, designed especially for those with time and budget constraints. We’ll spend 4 hours learning your way — I’ll demonstrate techniques and we’ll experiment with a variety of props. We’ll photograph some content for your Instagram and branding and learn the basics for prop styling so you can effectively shoot at home.
Whether you want to style for clients or for your own goods the takeaway will be significant.
Bring one or two products with you or I have tons to pick from. The possibilities are endless!

Spend 3 days in my NYC studio learning, styling, and shooting in a bespoke program designed specifically for you. This immersive program is for stylists, makers, foodies, photographers, and social media content creators of any level seeking to improve their styling capabilities and is uniquely tailored to your interests, goals, and expertise. From the minute you book your workshop we begin our work together. I’ll send you a detailed discovery questionnaire which gives you clarity of focus and allows me to get to know you better. We meet over zoom to go over everything you’ve stated and discuss plans for our photo shoots during our days together. At that point, I design a custom program that suits your needs and goals, with instruction that empowers you to take on styling jobs when you return home.

2025 Program INCLUDES:

• Discovery Questionnaire so I can personalize your program

• A pre-visit Zoom call to review your questionnaire and discuss plans for your sessions

• 2 days of one-on-one styling and photography sessions, 11am-4:00 pm with a lunch or snack break

• Demonstration and hands-on participation in photo shoots

• Portfolio, blog or social media review

• A copy of my book STYLING BEYOND INSTAGRAM OR a Styling Kit Goody Bag (only provided for full day workshops)

• Photos from the workshop (with credits and specified usage discussed)

Day 1, afternoon: Welcome & Orientation: Get to know the studio, props and plan the shoots.

Day 3, 11-4pm: The Business of Styling: Getting Started and Working in the Field

Square One: Learn the basics to kick start your career in styling. For beginner stylists or Instagrammers seeking to learn the basics of the photo shoot environment, with a focus on creative, technique, planning, and logistics. We'll start the day gathering inspiration and learning about the stylistic elements that create impactful images. You'll then decide on a direction and theme for your shoot, choose items from my vast and carefully curated prop and supply collection, and let the ideas start flowing as we style and shoot. By the time you leave, you'll be ready to take on the world, armed with the tools to plan and execute your next shoot.

Level Two & Website Reboot: For photographers, experienced stylists looking to switch gears or branch out into new areas and foodies and makers of products in need of high-quality imagery for their websites. Together we’ll focus on your accomplishments and where you want to take your career. We'll map out a strategy for change, seeing what types of portfolio images are needed to take you in the new desired direction and we'll shoot new images. This option is especially recommended for wedding stylists looking to transition to the commercial prop styling space or add product styling to their skill set.

Corporate/Business Training: For those sent by their company to learn photo styling techniques to enhance their performance and supplement their skill set at work involving the creation of image assets in a specific commercial niche. This workshop has elements of both of the above options, and is recommended for those in retail, publishing, social media, e-commerce and branding. Two employees from one company may attend this course together. I am also available to train your team on-site and put together a prop and surface collection for you. Learn more here.
